University officials are monitoring a brush fire in the Civic Center area of Malibu. Fire Department air support is operating out of Alumni Park. Forward progress has been stopped and the fire is 95% contained. At this time, the Malibu campus is not in danger. The University will continue to monitor, and will communicate as necessary.
Los Angeles County Fire has confirmed the wildfire reported at 5331 Horizon is contained, and they are releasing resources from the incident. No structures were damaged by the fire. Units will remain on scene to ensure embers do not reignite.
All Pepperdine campus operations remain normal.

There is a confirmed wildfire at 5331 Horizon Drive in Malibu west of campus. Wind gusts of 60+ MPH are currently blowing the fire away from the Malibu campus. Los Angeles County Fire has declared it a 2nd alarm fire.
Alumni Park will be used for air operations. We are preparing for Drescher to be used as the Incident Command Post if needed. Pepperdine officials will continue to monitor the fire and update the community as needed. All Pepperdine campuses remain open at this time.
