Posted on Updated on

The University continues to monitor the Palisades Fire, which is nine miles east of the Malibu campus. The fire has grown to more than 200 acres, but continues to pose no threat to the campus, though smoke remains visible. Additionally, the fire is impacting Pacific Palisades as officials manage power outages, road closures, and the overall response. Road closures continue to be fluid and currently include:

  • PCH is closed southbound at Las Flores and northbound at Coastline Drive.
  • Topanga remain closed to all except residents

Employees who live in the impacted area, or have children whose schools are impacted, should work with their supervisors if they need to leave early to attend to family or home needs. Critical support personnel should check in with their supervisors before leaving today and regarding plans for the remainder of the week.
