Malibu Canyon Road Closed – Online Classes and Modified Staffing for Monday
The University will move to remote learning and critical support staffing at the Malibu campus on Monday, January 27, due to the closure of Malibu Canyon Road, between Piuma Road and Francisco Ranch Road at 5 PM today. County officials have indicated they will not reopen Malibu Canyon Road before 5 PM on Monday.
Other University events planned to occur on the Malibu campus on Monday will continue as scheduled unless otherwise communicated by event organizers. Attendees should monitor road conditions and allow for extra travel time as needed. Athletics event updates will be posted on the University Athletics website.
Dining hours on the Malibu campus will be as follows:
- Waves Cafe, Starbucks, Nature’s Edge, and HAWC – open for regularly scheduled hours.
- CCB Cafe Fresca, the Deli, Drescher Cafe, and the School of Law Cafe – closed
All other campuses will continue with classes as regularly scheduled and normal on-ground operations.
Officials expect Malibu Canyon Road to be open on Tuesday, and therefore classes and operations on the Malibu campus are expected to resume as regularly scheduled on Tuesday. The University will update the community about Tuesday’s classes and operations on the Malibu campus by Monday at 7 PM.
