Delays on Malibu Canyon Road

California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported an accident near the tunnel earlier this morning. Southbound traffic is delayed while CPH clears the scene.  

The Malibu Campus is open, classes and finals are proceeding as scheduled. Normal business operations are expected to continue throughout the day. Please allow for extra time when traveling to campus.

Malibu Canyon Road Scheduled to Be Closed on Friday, March 24, 2023 – 9 AM to 3 PM

Malibu Canyon Road is scheduled to be closed from Civic Center Drive to Piuma Road on Friday, March 24, from 9 AM to 3 PM for pothole repairs. The Malibu campus is expected to remain open, with business operations and classes proceeding as normal.

Please allow for extra time when traveling to campus during that time period and utilize alternate routes. Drivers are encouraged to call Pepperdine’s Road Conditions Hotline at 310.506.7623 (ROAD) for the most up-to-date information on roads near Pepperdine’s Malibu campus. Malibu Canyon Closed Due to Another Rockslide

Malibu Canyon Road is closed again in both directions from Piuma to Seaver Drive due to another rockslide. The Malibu Campus remains open, classes are proceeding as scheduled, and normal business operations are expected to continue throughout the day. 

University officials encourage you to utilize alternative routes to Pepperdine’s Malibu Campus, as Malibu Canyon Road may continue to open and close throughout the day as conditions change.
