Pepperdine Monitoring Wildfires – Update #8

Posted on

Pepperdine has no flames on the Malibu campus. However, the National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning through Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 5:00 PM. Santa Ana winds are expected to peak in the Malibu area on Sunday morning with gusts predicted up to 45 MPH.

Pepperdine’s Emergency Operations Committee remains activated to:

  • oversee support for the students and community members on campus;
  • closely monitor the wildfires and the weather; and
  • begin preparations for the eventual resumption of normal operations.

The 101 freeway and roadways leading to Malibu remain closed to everyone, and only first responders are allowed passage on these routes. Consider following local media and city websites for the latest updates on road closures in your area. Pepperdine will provide additional updates as new information becomes available.
