Malibu Canyon Reopened
Malibu Canyon is now open following this morning’s traffic accident related closure. All other routes to Pepperdine’s Malibu Campus remain open and clear of significant delays, and Pepperdine classes and operations are continuing as scheduled.For the most up-to-date information on roads near Pepperdine’s Malibu campus, please call the Road Conditions Hotline at 310.506.7623 (ROAD). Malibu Canyon Closed
Due to a traffic accident and the associated investigation, Malibu Canyon Road is currently closed. Law enforcement has indicated the road may be closed for an extended period of time. The closure begins just north of the Seaver Drive intersection for northbound traffic and at Mulholland Highway for southbound traffic. Update Regarding Washington, DC, Campus due to Escaped Inmate Nearby
In alignment with local law enforcement guidance, Pepperdine’s Washington DC campus is lifting its shelter in place. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to continue using caution if leaving the campus as the escapee remains at large.

| SYNOPSIS: | Washington DC Area: 30-year-old Christopher Haynes escaped custody at George Washington University Hospital in the 900 block of 23rd St NW at 3:38 p.m. He is described as a black male with shoulder-length dreadlocks, initially said to be seen wearing a white suit with one red shoe. He now is possibly wearing a black t-shirt and gray shorts. He is not handcuffed, though he was last seen with black handcuffs hanging from his right wrist. Haynes was arrested on a homicide charge. |
