Update: Pepperdine Monitoring Tick Fire and Other Fires in Southern California

Pepperdine officials continue to monitor the Tick Fire in Santa Clarita and other fires burning in southern California. Smoke and ash from fires remain visible at the Calabasas and Malibu campuses. The fires are not currently affecting any of Pepperdine’s campuses, University operations remain normal, and classes are being held as scheduled.  

If needed, masks will be available on the Malibu campus at the following locations: Howard A. White Center, Payson Library, Waves Cafe, Drescher Graduate Campus Library, and the Pepperdine Law library. Masks will also be available at the main reception desk at the Calabasas and Encino campuses. If you pick up a mask this evening or already have one, please save it for potential use tomorrow.

Update: Pepperdine Monitoring Wildfire in Pacific Palisades

Pepperdine continues to monitor the wildfire near Pacific Palisades. At this time, the fire has burned more than 45 acres, but there has been no reported damage to structures. Fire crews will continue to work on containment and extinguishment throughout the evening. The fire is not currently affecting any of Pepperdine’s campuses, and all University operations remain normal.

Pepperdine has received information from Los Angeles County Fire concerning wildfires in the Pacific Palisades area. The fire is not currently affecting any University campus.
