A major network outage occurred on the Pepperdine Malibu campus this afternoon due to an equipment failure at the University’s internet service provider, Frontier Communications. During the outage, access to Gmail, the University’s single sign-on Central Authentication Service (CAS), PeopleSoft, and WaveNet were impacted. Information Technology rerouted internet access through the University’s West Los Angeles Campus, and network service was restored shortly after 3 PM.
Information Technology is continuing to work with Frontier to fully resolve the situation for the Malibu campus, but users should not be impacted further. This will be the last update.
